KBK’s cardan couplings are based on the cardan joint principle, where precise coordination of pins and bushes reduces backlash to a minimum, enabling true positioning applications. Their ability to compensate for high shaft misalignment at minimum restoring forces within a compact installation space makes them a special-purpose problem solver. They are offered for torque transmission in an easy-to-fit clamping hub, for absorbing high tension and compression forces, and—in their screwable version—as a linear coupling for linear drives.
Options: Available in a wide range of configurations to meet diverse assembly requirements, with shaft diameters from 3 mm to 55 mm and torque ranges from 2 Nm to 580 Nm, or force transmission from 200 N to 13,000 N for the linear version. Stainless steel variants are also available across the range, providing corrosion resistance for demanding environments.
Hub styles include collet clamp and split-hub designs, as well as a threaded execution for linear applications, allowing flexible mounting options and adaptability across various shaft and installation configurations.
The cardanic design enables the compensation of very high radial and angular shaft misalignment at very low restoring forces, without sacrificing the low-backlash precision required for positioning applications.
Additional features include a broad range of shaft diameters and torque or force capacities to fit specific application requirements, along with easy and fast assembly via radial clamping screws or inner and outer threads, and keyways available on request.
